Maybe it is not bad, but sometimes frequent appearances work on the opposite side – the exhibitions show low value or “collective farm” vehicles which is found in the streets even now, or when it is done almost every weekend. Such common and bothersome performances become not a festive exception but a grey daily routine and it dulls people’s attention. Yet, it can be done and a little bit more subtle – not only in the preparation of the technical quality of historical exhibitions, but also through the media, visual materials, publishing, advertising and educational programs.

Antique Vehicle Club “Klasika”, the first and still only club in Lithuania, has been popularising the antique technique among students for two years. This year club “Klasika” has continued an educational program which was launched in Noriūnai J. Černius main school"The (Kupiškis district). On the 26th of March several members of the club visited secondary school “Aušra” and presented to the students activities of Antique Vehicle Club “Klasika”, demonstrated films about the antique technique and historical heritage, showed and told about K. Sakalauskas museum audio restoring devices, responded to the students and teachers questions…

Educational programs are always started with questions, “Who and how many of students have been in the historical car exhibitions and what is known to them about the antique technique?

The answers sometimes surprise. Last year, in ÄŒerniaus main school, only three in about 100 students participated in antique vehicle exhibitions, this year in “AuÅ¡ra” secondary school, there were fourteen from the same number of pupils. People from Biržai have surprised us, because we had expected a better result from the town spoiled with the historic car events. After all, children – the most curious part of our community!"Club And, if only about fourteen percent of the students are directly familiar with antique vehicles, it means our job is meaningful and necessary. Thus, we suggest that the other clubs of antique techniques to communicate with the young generation. After all, it’s the most receptive social group, perhaps in the future they will become our sponsors, lawmakers and even members of our clubs…

Finally, we would like to thank a headmaster’s deputy of “Aušra” school Danutė Laumienė and photographer Klaidas Lapėnas! Thank pupils for their attention and interest in technical history!
