Time catches and overtakes us… Maybe only when the New Year changes for the year, we stop, take a moment and look back calmly. Such a step, which has already become the tradition of the Antique Vehicle Club \u201cKlasika\u201d, has been repeated for almost a decade. Although, in truth, we will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the club only in the coming summer. But about that – later. To begin with, I would like not only to remind of the upcoming jubilee of the Club \u201cKlasika\u201d, but also to mention what was done in 2017…<\/p>\n

The beginning of the “Klasika” season is announced<\/p><\/div>\n

When spring comes, almost every owner of antique vehicle stares at the calendar and waits for the warmer weather and drier roads. This year, even without coming warming up, on April 29th the members of the Club \u201cKlasika\u201d decided to \u201cwake up\u201d the late spring and announce the start of the season of antique vehicles. During the of the club members meeting, there were discussed the last year 2016 activity results, future and perspectives of the club, signed on the new club members.<\/p>\n

Award to Club “Klasika’<\/p><\/div>\n

Just one week later, on May 6th, the \u201cWe drive 2017\u201d event in Pasvalys distinguished itself not only with the great weather, but also with the abundance of participants. And there is nothing surprising, because this traditional festival is still popularly known as the opening ceremony of the Lithuanian Antique Vehicle season. According to statisticians, the historical cars of the Antique Vehicle Club \u201cClassic\u201d participated in all the \u201cWe drive\u201d events that have been held so far. Therefore, the award \u201cFor Active Participation and Promotion of the Event\u201d given by organizers to the Club \u201cKlasika\u201d was a natural and fair assessment. By the way, the technique of the club members was awarded two more times: the best motorcycle of the event \u201cWe drive 2017\u201d was elected Dalius Linkevi\u010dius\u2019 EMW R35\/3, made in 1953, while the most beautiful car award was given to Vytautas Gineika’s Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado Convertible, produced in 1975.<\/p>\n

The Cadillac Series 62 has won the title of the stylish car of the festival<\/p><\/div>\n

On May 27-28, the auto-retro festival \u201cGolden Karaliau\u010dius Shadow 2017\u201d was held in Kaliningrad. For the first time, the Club \u201cKlasika\u201d members who took part in this event were pampered by the attention and respect of the hosts. Dalius Linkevi\u010dius, a member of the club \u201cKlasika\u201d, returned to Bir\u017eai with an award. Dalius drove the 1942 Cadillac Series 62 which won the title of the stylish festival car.<\/p>\n

Club “Klasika” in Joni\u0161kis<\/p><\/div>\n

July 8th, the Antique Vehicle Club \u201cKlasika\u201d demonstrated its vintage technique at the festival of Joni\u0161kis town. \u201cJust retro\u201d \u2013 the image of this year Joni\u0161kis festival was fulfilled by the Club \u201cKlasika\u201d in the direct sense of these words. Having started its appearing on the parade and giving a lift to the honourable townspeople, \u201cKlasika\u201d cars created an unforgettable performance of history and development of automobiles in the center of Joni\u0161kis.<\/p>\n

Antique Car Show “Timeless Classic 2017”<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

I think, if Bir\u017eai citizens were asked about the most exciting events taking place in the town, they would undoubtedly mention the antique vehicle meeting \u201cTimeless Classic\u201d. Already since 2008, historical car exhibitions organized by the Antique Vehicle Club \u201cKlasika\u201d diversify not only the cultural life of Bir\u017eai but have already become a prestigious event in the Baltic States. As it is written in the media, there are only a few festivals in Lithuania with many years of tradition that have successfully continued their activities for several years. \u201cTimeless Classic\u201d is one of them. Each year, not only the crowds of participants gather in the event, but also a growing number of spectators are coming.<\/p>\n
